Nine per cent of people in Germany are in debt. The people who help them often spend the first hours of a case opening envelopes. Thirty to eighty letters arrive per client, including court orders, enforcement notices, invoices and collection letters, and each one is sorted, read and retyped by hand before advice can start.

Brief Insights was founded in Berlin to take that work off the desk. BriefXtract reads the post, extracts the fields that matter and files each document against the case, so the time spent sorting goes to the client instead.

Each extracted value carries a pointer to the line it was read from, each document is deleted immediately after processing, and the rules for both are written down on the security page.
