One case file, every document.
BriefXtract is Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) software that turns the day's post into a case your team can open and check.
What is BriefXtract?
BriefXtract is intelligent document processing (IDP) software for debt and social counseling centres and consumer insolvency law firms in Germany, made by Brief Insights in Berlin. A centre or firm scans or forwards the day's post as one mixed PDF. BriefXtract splits it into documents, identifies each one as a letter, court order, invoice, collection letter or notice, and extracts the creditor, file number, amount and due date. Each value is shown beside the line it was read from, so whoever handles the case can check it against the page. Eviction notices, court deadlines and enforcement orders are flagged on arrival. Documents that belong to the same debt are linked into one case record, which can be exported in your format or passed to your case-management system through an API. Processing runs on AWS inside the EU, documents are deleted immediately afterwards, and nothing is used to train a model.
How the post becomes a case.
From the scanner to a filed case in four steps, with no retyping.
1. Post arrives
Scan the day's mail, or forward it, as one mixed PDF. No pre-sorting, no naming convention.
2. Read and classified
Every page is split from its neighbours and identified: letter, court order, invoice, notice.
3. Fields extracted
Creditor, file number, amount and deadline come back, each one beside the line it was read from.
4. Filed against the case
Documents belonging to the same debt are linked into one record, ready for the appointment.
Extraction you can check line by line.
Each extracted value keeps a pointer to the sentence it came from. Your team confirms a case by comparing each value with the page.

Six capabilities.
Each one replaces a task that used to be done by hand.
Intelligent extraction
Creditor name, file number, amount and due date, pulled from mixed PDFs in one pass.
Urgency flagging
Eviction notices, court deadlines and enforcement orders surface with a labelled chip.
Master debt case engine
An invoice and the collection letter that followed it are linked into a single debt record.
Zero-retention processing
Documents are deleted immediately after processing and never train a model.
Case-management export
Structured output to your format, or a direct connection to your case system by application programming interface (API).
Built for the caseload
Designed to bring preparation from 1 to 8 hours per client down to about 15 minutes.
What changes, task by task.

| Catching an urgent notice | Not included | Flagged on arrival |
| Time before advice starts | 1 to 8 hours | About 15 minutes (target) |

Manual figures as reported by counseling centres. The time with BriefXtract is a product target.
Questions centres and law firms ask.
Short answers. The platform, security and results pages have the details.
Which documents can BriefXtract read?
The post a counseling centre or law firm receives for a client: letters from creditors, collection letters, invoices, court orders and enforcement notices. Scan or forward them together as one mixed PDF; BriefXtract separates and identifies each document.
What does BriefXtract extract from a letter?
The document type, the creditor, the file number, the amount and the due date. Each value keeps a pointer to the line it was read from, and values that need a second look are marked.
How do we check the results?
Each extracted field sits beside the line it was read from. To confirm a case, compare the two.
Does it work with our case-management system?
BriefXtract returns structured data in the format you need, or connects directly to your case-management system through an API, so nothing has to be retyped.
Where is client data processed, and is it kept?
On AWS infrastructure inside the EU, including the AI models on Amazon Bedrock. Documents are deleted immediately after processing and are never used to train a model.
